So, you may be asking who is this Nycole? Well, I'm a fun, caramel honey who loves to shop, travel, attend concerts, spend time with family and friends! I'm a true girly girl! With that being said, I think I need to share with you my story about why I decided to go natural.
It was in the year 2007 that I came to a realization that I was tired of neglecting my hair. I was wearing mostly weave styles since I figured it was a lot easier to maintain, than my hair. Also, I could be long or short depending on the mood that I was in. So, after looking at my bank account and doing some simple mathmatical additions, I realized that I was spending over $900 just to get a weave every other month. That was ridiculous to me! I could really use that money to better use. I mean we were on the brink of a recession. Money wasn't easy to come by and on top of that I'm a college student. I realized that I needed to change my ways. I'd always had a curiousity toward those who had natural hair. So, I stopped relaxing my hair. I decided that I was going to go natural. I didn't take my hair out of the weave style until the first of January of 2008. It was then that I decided to braid my hair until I could get some length to it before I cut the perm out. I wore my hair in braided styles for most of 2008. The grow out process is the hardest process if you've ever gone natural. I'm sure many of you would agree! Well, in 2009, I got rid of the braids, cut the relaxed hair out and now my hair is doing wonderful! Of course it took some trial and error along with lots of products that I really didn't need but I wouldn't change my experience for nothing in the world! I love being natural!!! My hair loves it too!
